Project introduction
King’s Guozi is Shenzhen’s first pastry brand based on “Oriental Fusion”. For its first experience store, we imagined tasting pastries and tea in a courtyard beneath lanterns. Courtyard elements and a lowered lantern-like ceiling create intimate platform seating, allowing visitors to enjoy the pastries with a gentle sense of ritual, but without formality.
The store occupies the northeast corner of O’Plaza at OCT Harbour. At the southern mall entrance, a gift-box sales area includes a workbench where visitors can watch pastries being made. Inside are a brightly lit product display and a collection counter for packaged gift boxes. Beside the northern street entrance, a bubbling pond to the east contains a welcoming pine named “Fang Qingsong”—a play on the Chinese phrase for “relax”. To the west, fully opening, double-sided booth platforms connect inside and outside. The sales counter forms a complete box; a nearby round table presents pastry culture, seasonal flowers and festive gift boxes, and doubles as dining space when the store is busy.
